Weight Management

  • Many individuals consume large portions of the wrong kinds of foods, such as refined foods and snacks loaded with sugar, instead of balanced meals that include quality proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. These poor diet choices combined with high stress, and a sedentary lifestyle cause weight gain, resulting in numerous health problems, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol to name a few. Most weight loss programs do not take into account the physiologic needs of the body and therefore do not result in long-term success rates. The body’s metabolism needs to be healed, digestion improved, and hormones balanced in order to achieve and maintain optimal weight. This implies behavioral change over time with an approach that addresses the specific physiological and nutritional needs of the individual. Balance and function must be restored before you can lose weight and keep it off.
